Match fixing. Doping. Fan Violence. Racism. Corruption. With new cases of these threats emerging on a monthly basis, it is clear that sport is at a crossroads and that organisations and governments must come together to ensure that urgent action is taken to confront these problems. The response must be global, united and powerful. This edition of the ICSS Journal stresses that Governments must acknowledge the economic and social impact that criminal organisations are exerting on sport. The protection of sport against these challenges is a team activity and strong collaboration between all actors in sport is necessary to win this battle.
