Partnership with Josoor Institute

Background

In 2013, the ICSS was appointed as an institutional partner of the Josoor Institute - a new centre of excellence designed to serve Qatar and the Middle East and North African region as training, education as well as research and development centre.

What ICSS did

Alongside the ICSS, the Josoor Institute has already trained many individuals who will play an integral role in Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 FIFA World CupTM, many of which will go on to deliver other large-scale sporting and non-sporting events across the region long after 2022.

So far, the ICSS and Josoor Institute have worked on a range of training courses and programmes, including:

  • Short courses - Targeted at professionals who wish to develop new skills and gain an awareness of opportunities within the sports and event industries;
  • Programme pathways - A range of professional certificate and diploma programmes providing both academic and work-based experience. These courses aim to prepare graduates for managerial and leadership positions in the sports and event industries.
  • Outreach days - Providing students with career information and courses, whilst learning about the opportunities of working in the sports and events industries;
