Andrew Cooke – Director of Security Operations
Andrew leads the ICSS Safety and Security Operations project team in their work with major sports events, governments and international federations on safety and security planning, testing, auditing, training, readiness and delivery. A vastly experienced security expert with over 25 years working in multi-disciplinary security, risk management and law enforcement, Andrew has managed and coordinated major security and investigation operations across a broad range of sports events across the globe.
With a track record of leading diverse teams and working with various stakeholders, Andrew has secured a variety of sports and international events including the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in Australia, as well as working alongside international sporting bodies such as the Asian Football Confederation, Cricket Australia and Hockey Australia as their Security and Risk Consultant on a global level.
Steven Fleming - Manager Sport Events Security
Steven has over 30 years’ experience in law enforcement and major sporting events security planning and delivery from both a policing and organising committee perspective. He has significant experience in delivering high profile, large-scale security projects for major sporting events including the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic Games and the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games. Steven represented UK Policing at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games and delivered the Safety and Security chapter for the 2010 London Host City bid for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. More recently he has delivered the Safety and Security Handbook for a global sporting governing body and regularly conducts security audits and assessments at major sports events both in Qatar and around the world.
Alain van Thiel - Manager Training Development
Alain is Manager of Training Development at ICSS ENTERPRISE and is responsible for the complete project lifecycle of the division’s safety and security-related training projects. As an instructional systems designer, Alain has a proven international track record for designing, developing and delivering bespoke training and learning solutions that serve clients’ needs across a variety of industries. Throughout his career, Alain has developed extensive knowledge of instructional systems design best practices, research-based learning principles and advanced technologies. Alain has a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Bishop’s University.
