ICSS-UNODC resource guide

Following a partnership signed in 2015, the ICSS and UNODC developed a new resource guide that helps law enforcement and sports organisations better detect and investigate match-fixing and cases of sports-results manipulation.

Over 40 international integrity experts contributed their knowledge to the development of the resource guide.

These include officials from FIFA, the International Olympic Committee, INTERPOL, the European Commission, Hong Kong Jockey Club, World Snooker, Council of Europe, Ministries of Justice from France and the Republic of Korea, and EUROPOL.

Intelligence collection and confidential alerts

The work conducted by sport integrity experts at the ICSS is underpinned by investigations and intelligence collected in the fields of corruption, match-fixing and betting fraud.

ICSS INSIGHT and its sport integrity experts regularly assist and alert stakeholders working in the sports industry by providing tailored confidential investigative reports on suspect matches to help protect sport from the impact of crime.

Protecting the integrity of the Indian Super League

ICSS sport integrity experts have recently provided operational assistance to help protect the integrity of the Indian Super League.

The work with the Indian Super League saw ICSS experts advise the ISL on the development of its overall integrity strategy in order to minimise the competitions risk to match-fixing and betting fraud, as well as conducting a top-level review of existing anti-corruption regulations and practices of the ISL.

In addition, ICSS sport integrity experts also delivered education seminars with players, administrators and match-officials, briefed a team of local integrity officers, and provided overall intelligence support to help identify potentially suspicious betting patterns around matches.
